Job overview

The School of Sport and Creative Services is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual to lead on the development, management and teaching of further and higher education programmes that come under the Creative Services branch of the School. The further education provision currently includes levels 2 and 3 in Hairdressing, Beauty and Make-up related programmes as well as Hairdressing Apprenticeships. The higher education provision comprises of both BA/FdA Beauty and Spa Management programmes but is also developing alternative programmes in light of current industry trends.

In collaboration with colleagues and team members, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of provision in line with Ofsted and Teaching Excellence Framework requirements.

The School is well resourced with regards to practical teaching facilities, equipment and products which enhances the teaching and learning experience.

Excellent inter-personal, communication and leadership skills are essential, in addition to proven teaching, management and industry experience and a clear commitment to quality.

Your application will be supported by a relevant undergraduate degree and recognised teaching qualification. The University strongly encourages engagement with continued professional development opportunities, in order to maintain standards and relevance within the field. 

It is expected that the post-holder will offer flexibility to support the needs of the service, including a willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
