The Governing Body, Trust and Headteacher seek to appoint an enthusiastic, well-qualified and innovative Assistant Department Leader of Science to join a lively, friendly and successful department. The Science Department sits within the Science & Technology School of Learning alongside the Department of Design & Technology. 

Kingsdown School is at a very exciting stage in its history. From September we welcomed a 

· New Headteacher

· New Chair of Governors and we

· Became an official partner of the River Learning Trust

Since appointing a new Director of Learning for Science and DT at Kingsdown School, the Science Department is on an exciting journey of progression. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who has the ability to motivate and inspire young people to reach their full potential. The successful applicant will be passionate about Science and this will be evident in their classroom practice where they will be able to teach all three specialisms up to GCSE standard. They will be forward-thinking and be able to collaborate with other members of a team and lead them towards a shared vision. They will report to and assist the Department Leader and deputise in the event of their absence.

Kingsdown School is part of a Multi Academy Trust and joined the River Learning Trust on the 1st September 2017. The successful applicant will join the School as a River Learning Trust employee.

 Kingsdown School is a mixed 11-16 Academy situated on the eastern outskirts of Swindon. The most recent OFSTED inspection commented “Leaders provide a curriculum that is broad and balanced.  A notable strength of the school is its care for pupils facing particular difficulties, the work the school does to support pupils’ personal development and well-being is good.”
