St Anne’s Church of England Academy is seeking to recruit an outstanding English practitioner as Assistant Director of English who is passionate about the subject, ambitious for leadership opportunities and has successful and recent experience of working within a school in challenging circumstances.
The Academy is seeking a skilled teacher with a proven track record of delivering successful student outcomes across all ability ranges at both KS3 and KS4. You will be resilient, adaptable, organised and flexible. You will have a flair for inspiring even the most reluctant learners to achieve their true potential in this subject as well as the ability to empower the most able to succeed.
The post of Assistant Director supports the Course Director of English in leading the drive to improve student outcomes and carries with it the opportunity to develop leadership skills at whole school level. You will be supported with suitable professional development opportunities appropriate to your career stage, e.g. National Professional Qualifications.
You may already have some experience of team leadership, or this might be your first foray, but your commitment and desire for excellence will be clear.

St Anne's is a secondary 11-16 school in Middleton, Rochdale. Joining the Trust in 2021, the school is on a rapid improvement trajectory with very exciting things to come being part of the Cranmer Community. The quality of education is the school's absolute priority and all staff are supported in being part of this through the new structured whole school and faculty led CPD offer which focuses on specific themes such as metacognition and how to use Rosenshine's principles. The school has made incredible progress with students' online learning and is trailblazing the use of Microsoft Teams, rapidly developing pedagogy so that students continue to be engaged at home as much as at school. The building is a new build with excellent facilities and grounds. The site is easily accessible in less than one mile from Junction 19 of the M62.
