Job overview
Due to an expanding department, we are looking to appoint an Assistant Director of Learning for Technology with a specialism in one of the following areas: CAD / Engineering / Product Design / Systems & Control (electronics) or Resistant Materials to complement the team. The suitable candidate needs to be a well established teacher with aspirations to aspire, motivate and support the leading of a team. This post is not suitable for ECT's.
The role will involve supporting all staff with collaborative planning, professional development, reviewing and developing schemes of learning, assessments and resources, addressing gaps in attainment of underachieving students and ensuring progression for all students. Having the ability to inspire young people, instilling a passion for technology both as an academic subject and applying it to the world around them is also a key aspect of the role.
Within the department you will work alongside our experienced Director of Learning for Technology (Product Design specialist), Head of Food and KS3 lead. Additionally, the department has two Design and Technology teachers (Textiles and D&T specialists) and two full-time experienced and well qualified technicians.
Applicants must be able to teach both Ks3 and Ks4 Design and Technology. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of excellent teaching and raising student achievement. The post is suitable to either an aspirant or already successful middle leader.
