The Director of Sailing and Water Sports at RHS is excited to be recruiting for two full-time positions in the school’s Sailing Department. With facilities, equipment and access to sailing unrivalled in UK schools, the Department is unique in its offering to pupils and consequently seeks applications from RYA Instructors and Coaches of the highest calibre to lead the development of sailing at RHS into the next stage of its evolution.

The Royal Hospital School has the following vacancy

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SAILING

RHS is looking to appoint an outstanding and well-qualified RYA Senior Instructor to a full-time post in the Sailing Department with effect from January 2018. It is expected that the appointee will teach dinghy, keelboat sailing and powerboating to pupils from Year 7 through to Year 13.

Responsibilities will include working as part of the Sailing Department providing tuition to the School’s pupils up to 6 days per week throughout the academic year, leading the delivery of our Cornish Shrimper programme and to be able to take a leading role in coaching school pupils ranging from beginners to students in our elite fleet and team racing squads. 

The successful applicant will also be expected to be competent in boat maintenance and care and preferably have several of the following: Race Coaching qualification, Keelboat Endorsement, Windsurfing Instructor qualification and a Powerboat Instructor qualification. 

Candidates will have the energy and enthusiasm required to commit to a large boarding and day school.
