This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and innovative leader/Computer Science specialist to shape the strategic direction of Croydon High School.

In this pivotal role, you will ensure that our bespoke ‘Enterprise Technology’ offer engages ‘every girl, every day’ to embrace technology and become real-world ready and prepared for the future.

In September 2018 we launched ‘Enterprise Technology’ in response to opportunities presented by emerging technologies. Since then, Enterprise Technology in Years 7 to 9 (which is called Computer Science at GCSE and A level) has been established as a popular and innovative subject across both our Senior and Junior Schools. Our pupils work on emerging technology-centered projects and also enter a wide range of Computer Science competitions and events.

As Assistant Head (Digital Strategy) you will be responsible for fostering an environment which nurtures innovation and creativity throughout the School. You will provide leadership for the School’s Digital Strategy, act as a Head of Department (leading A level teaching) and ensure ‘Enterprise Technology’ as a concept is a feature of every aspect of the School, as well as being the mouthpiece for technology innovation at Senior Leadership Team level.

This role is suitable for a Head of Department, or experienced teacher of Computer Science who is looking to gain school wide strategic exposure and experience, possibly prior to applying for a Deputy Headship in a few years’ time. An enthusiasm for engaging pupils in emerging and disruptive technologies through project-based learning is essential.
