Assistant Head (Head of Sixth Form)

Latymer Upper SchoolHammersmith and Fulham

We are a school that values diversity and individual contribution; supporting and encouraging staff to pursue their interests and achieve their ambitions.

This high-profile Senior Leadership position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the pastoral care of our large, thriving and highly successful Sixth Form.  We are looking for a candidate of the highest calibre able to shape and maintain the ethos, tone and high expectations of the Latymer Sixth Form. Your pastoral instincts will be excellent and will be focused on ensuring the emotional, physical and intellectual wellbeing of the students in your care. An excellent communicator, you will be able to inspire confidence amongst students, parents and the pastoral team.  You will have a critical role in shaping and supporting the ambitious but realistic aspirations of students (and their parents) for the post-Sixth Form stage of their education and adult lives. You will lead, manage and inspire a large pastoral team and those involved in helping students with their Higher Education aspirations.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you must be committed to the school’s ethos and aims and to the school’s strategic direction.  It is expected that the successful candidate will play a full role in our Senior Management Team, contributing to both to the wider strategic development of the school and, also, more specifically to its pastoral and academic development.

Acknowledging a lack of ethnic diversity within our Leadership Team, we particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates for this role. All appointments will be made on merit, following a fair and transparent process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, however, the School may employ positive action where diverse candidates can demonstrate their ability to perform the role equally well.
