CHESTERTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE
11-16 mixed, with 940 pupils on roll
Headteacher: Lucy Scott
Assistant Head Science
Required from September 2019
We require a talented and creative Assistant Head (Science) to contribute to the school’s strategic development as part of the Senior Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will bring creativity and leadership skills to lead both the Science department and the wider school community. You will have a proven track record of effective leadership and success, exemplary classroom practice as well as an ability to lead and motivate staff, to think proactively and work collaboratively.
The successful candidate will join the school at a moment when the Trust is expanding; we are in the pre-opening stage of opening our sister school, the Cambridge Mathematics School, which will be a specialist sixth form where all students study Science and Maths. The Trust will be looking to develop a leadership team for this ambitious project and this opens the possibility of a career path that continues to build on the successful candidate’s passion for Science.
As a school, we are innovative in realising the potential of all our students and we offer an excellent, supportive environment in which to work. There is an extensive CPD programme for all staff and our staff body is highly collaborative, which leads to excellent opportunities for students. We are proud of our OFSTED Outstanding rating and of our most recent GCSE results, which place us in the top 0.25% of schools nationally. We relish of the challenge of continually striving to do the best for all our students.
