Job overview

Clifton High School is an academically selective, co-educational, independent day school for over 600 pupils aged 3-18 years. Situated on a beautiful Bristol site, we operate the Diamond Edge Model of education underpinned by a strong pastoral and family ethos. Principally we are a school for parents who want their child’s emotional and personal development to be given the same level of importance as their academic achievements.

We are looking to appoint a strong academic role model, dynamic and forward-thinking, to lead our Sixth Form and play a pivotal role in shaping, communicating and implementing the School’s strategy for the Sixth Form over the coming years. The School is at an exciting stage in its development and we have ambitions to extend the profile of the Sixth Form as it grows in terms of size. We would like to hear from an outstanding classroom practioner, with demonstrated success of strong management of people and systems, who wishes to develop this significant role, designed to enhance the experience of our students and support their progress as they transition to tertiary education and their chosen careers.  Well-honed interpersonal and communication skills and a charismatic and energetic leadership approach are essential for this coveted role within the School.

At Clifton High we encourage our Sixth Form students to take responsibility for their own future and continue to develop a broad set of skills and personal character traits that will serve them well throughout their lives. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and innovative individual seeking a whole school experience in a thriving co-educational setting who is seeking a platform for progression into a Senior Leadership role.

A commitment to the wider education of pupils through extra-curricular activities is an expectation. The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community.

Closing date for applications: 22nd January 2018

Interviews will be held in the week commencing: 5th February 2018

Clifton High School is committed to safeguarding children and young people and expects all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
