Queensbury is a large Secondary Special School, which caters for 244 students with Moderate Learning Difficulties and a range of complex needs. Our students are effectively supported by bespoke interventions in order that they reach their full potential. Our positive, caring ethos provides a safe learning environment where everyone is valued.
We are looking to appoint an ambitious, innovative and inspirational Assistant Head Teacher to join our Senior Leadership Team in moving our school forward following our recent Ofsted inspection. You will be joining a determined and highly supportive Leadership Team and will be given continued professional development opportunities to meet your needs.
Key responsibilities;
- Key Stage 5 – Quality of Education
- Whole School Personal Development
- Leadership of Middle Leaders (Head of Faculties)
- LAC (PEPs)
- Educational Visits – Whole School
- Post 16 transitions
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- They are passionate and ambitious about special school provision and achieving the best for children and young people.
- Their ability to identify and lead change in a flexible and positive way.
- They have a record of success in middle or senior management of raising standards and implementing new initiatives.
- Their commitment to raising standards of attainment and overcoming barriers to learning.
- They have the highest possible expectations of pupil achievement, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
- Their ability to promote a nurturing learning environment whilst overseeing the social and academic progress of students.
- They are an outstanding classroom practitioner.
- Their ability to rigorously analyse performance data in order to identify links between underachievement and provision, setting robust targets to secure improvement.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and lead others as a Performance Management Reviewer.
- Their inspired leadership and strong motivation whilst demonstrating humility and a highly supportive ethos for all colleagues.
- Their resilience to become one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads.
- An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
