We are passionate about finding an Assistant Headteacher for our outstanding and thriving special school located in Kidsgrove, Staffordshire, offering the highest quality of education for up to 100 children (5-18) with a range of additional needs.
Pupils may or may not have low cognitive function, be on the autistic spectrum, or have difficulties with their emotional and mental health and/or speech, language and communication.
Our aim is to provide innovative and enjoyable education, therapy and early intervention for pupils, helping them to become happy, positive and valuable members of society.
Bluebell School enables pupils to access a curriculum that offers a personalised education rooted in social and emotional development, rich in speech and language, enabling the very best achievement both personally and academically.
We are seeking someone who ‘just gets’ children, has a marvellous sense of humour and who has the flexibility and determination to ensure that Bluebell is the first choice of special school for children, parents and local authorities.
The successful candidate will be teaching pupils primarily in KS3/4/5 with a variety of additional needs, coordinating maths across the school, managing the BTEC and examinations programme and providing leadership in the KS4/5 department.
We do not require an experienced SEN Teacher, as comprehensive training will be provided, enabling the post holder to develop very quickly. Thus, we welcome applicants from Mainstream or Special, Secondary School settings, who are looking for something different. Applicants should be able to demonstrate the ability to teach maths up to GCSE level (even if they have not done so before), have a good understanding of the BTEC and national examinations systems, and be ready to take on the challenge of leadership.
We offer a range of benefits including excellent training and development opportunities, and support the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
Bluebell School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with current and past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
We are an equal opportunities employer.
