North Hill House School are recruiting for a Assistant Head Teacher. We are looking for an outstanding relationship builder, with a passion for providing children and young people with special needs with the best possible education. You will have knowledge of formulating the aims and objectives of the school, whilst establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives. You will be energetic and have a strong sense of moral purpose, and the ability to inspire the team to achieve the highest standards to ensure best outcomes for pupils.

Set in its own grounds close to Frome town centre, North Hill House is an independent specialist day and residential school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties. 

The school has been specifically designed to provide a strong focus for both UK and international students who need different levels of support to succeed, thus allowing young people with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties to thrive effectively in an ever-demanding and complex society. Students have ambitions to live and work as self-reliant adults and we can help them to reach their goals with continued support, structure and guidance. The school welcomes students on a day or weekly residential basis for 38 weeks per year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong, enthusiastic and highly motivated senior teacher who has a sound knowledge of ASD. 

The successful candidate will work closely with the senior management team and will lead on areas of teaching learning and assessment. Duties will also include tracking the attendance and progress of learners.

The postholder will work with the SLT to develop and integrate a shared vision and strategic plan for the School, must have a creative and dynamic approach and be able to provide leadership and support to colleagues at all levels.

Candidates must have a sound understanding of regulatory requirements and must be passionate about achieving the best outcomes for the young people at our School.

You will benefit from a bespoke induction programme and the support and guidance of your senior colleagues across Aspris Children's Services. Applicants must have a formal teaching qualification.
