About the school

As one of six secondary schools within the ‘Coast’ region within The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT), we take pride in our geographic location and in our role as a ‘community’ secondary school.  With a current and growing role of 566  students (Years 7-11), we are a vibrant and diverse community with high expectations for all our pupils. Judged to be a ‘good’ school by Ofsted in June 2015 and again in December 2018, our vision is for every member of our school community to be successful academically, socially and morally.  We aim to provide a high quality, inclusive education ensuring that every student has the opportunity to fulfil their maximum potential.  Our curriculum is built upon a strong academic GCSE core and delivered through creative and engaging teaching.

We are very excited to be recruiting for a new Assistant Headteacher to join our school. We are looking for a strong, well-rounded individual who can drive significant improvements in their areas of responsibility but also for the whole school. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, positive, and charismatic leader who has proven leadership experience.

Amongst other things this individual must;

  • Be a robust, resilient, and positive leader, committed to going above and beyond to ensure rapid school improvement. If your glass is ‘half empty’ we are not the school for you
  • Be committed to working with pupils, parents and staff to raise standards
  • Have the drive and unwavering belief to make a real difference to the lives of pupils in an area of disadvantage
  • Be able to challenge, inspire, and motivate others to achieve outstanding practice
  • Have the drive and experience to support senior and curriculum Leaders in robust self-evaluation of teaching and learning and be accountable for improving the quality of teaching and learning across the Academy.

Havant Academy is fortunate to have extensive facilities and allows all students and frequent use of them. These facilities support a rich curricular and extra-curricular provision.
