Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour and Attitudes
Salary: L12 – L16
Contract: Based on 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. Permanent.
Working time: 195 days per year, full time
Responsible to: Headteacher
We are looking to recruit a dynamic Assistant Headteacher who has experience in student behaviour management in a Secondary School setting.
Required for September 2025, applications are invited for an Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour and Attitudes to support the education of students in Years 7 – 11, with the successful candidate becoming a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Bungay High School. This role is central to the development and wellbeing of our students and is the conduit between home and school. The successful candidate will provide support and guidance to our students, as they progress through school. The Pastoral and Behaviour Teams are successfully led by the Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour and Attitudes and we are looking for an exceptional leader to continue to develop this Pastoral offer for our students.
The primary focus will be ensuring student behaviour and attitudes are excellent and that high expectations are set and followed in all lessons and around the school as well as rewarding students in line with our Character qualities of Resilience, Respect, Reflectiveness and Responsibility. You will lead on effective support strategies to ensure that learning is prioritised while working closely with our Assistant Headteacher – Inclusion and Wellbeing so that all students have access to a suitable educational provision.
Candidates must have flexibility, strong time management skills, and be well organised to allow them to schedule and prioritise behavioural work and maintain appropriate and essential records. Candidates must be able to work on their own initiative and have excellent communication and IT skills.
