Maiden Erlegh School in Reading is an ambitious, over-subscribed 11-16 secondary school in an urban context which is as committed to the welfare of students and staff as it is our high quality education. We now have an exciting and rare opportunity for an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to join our flourishing school and contribute to its continuing success. The purpose of the role is as follows:


  • Leadership and development of our reward and celebration culture
  • Behaviour and conduct improvement agenda
  • Reactive and proactive behaviour support for staff
  • Line management for Heads of Year
  • Development and implementation of Anti-Bullying strategy
  • Whole school Student voice strategy and implementation
  • Parent engagement strategy and implementation
  • Leadership of enrichment, extra-curricular and House system
  • Leadership of our Post-16 readiness programme
