We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and committed Assistant Headteacher who will lead on securing truly exceptional behaviour and standards across Guiseley School. We are passionate about ensuring the highest standards of pastoral care and recognise that excellent behaviour is a bedrock upon which the culture of the school is built. We are expanding our leadership team and are looking for an individual who shares our commitment to excellence and achieving the very best for all of our students.  

The Assistant Headteacher will lead on behaviour and discipline across school and will work alongside the Deputy Head (Pastoral) and to ensure a culture of high support and high challenge permeates the Guiseley School’s pastoral care systems. Alongside behaviour and discipline, the successful candidate will be accountable for the oversight of alternative provision, admissions, and the development of pupil and parental engagement strategies. The successful candidate will join a high performing, systems driven pastoral team, will be line managed by the Pastoral Deputy Headteacher, and will be supported by a thorough induction and an excellent professional development programme for all staff.

The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2022.

Guiseley School is an 11-18 fully inclusive school situated in a small town in the City of Leeds in West Yorkshire. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is now a suburb of north west Leeds and close to the stunning Dales. The school is part of a Co-operative Trust established in 2014. The school works jointly with a number of local schools to promote the welfare and success of the children of Aireborough. As part of the local community, Guiseley School has a firm reputation for high standards in both behaviour and academic endeavour. The Governing Board is keen to continue this traditional understanding of the school and to develop its reputation for excellence.
