Following a period of significant change Bishop Challoner Catholic Federation of schools are continuing to evolve and improve. The two schools will merge from September 2023 creating one co-educational school.

The school have undertaken a restructure of the senior team to better serve the new co-educational structure. As a result, the school will create a senior team of five Deputies and three Assistant Heads.

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Headteacher to assist the Executive Headteacher and Deputy Heads in the strategic development across the school, creating a climate of learning where expectations are high, clearly communicated and consistently reinforced.

The successful candidate will a be a highly visible, collaborative and aspirational leader who will model the highest levels of professionalism and inspire, motivate and develop staff and students. Our senior team will put the educational needs of the children at the heart of everything.

You do not need to be a practising Catholic to apply.

The Assistant Headteacher will support the Deputy Headteacher in:

·      To be a senior leader within the school acting as a role model of best practice to colleagues, undertaking duties, attending school events and representing the school in a professional capacity.

·      Communicating the school’s vision compellingly and supporting the headteacher’s strategic leadership

·      The day-to-day management of the school

·      Formulating the aims and objectives of the school

·      Establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives in relation to the Behaviour for Learning Policy

·      Managing staff and resources to that end

·      Monitoring progress towards the achievement of the school’s aims and objectives

·      To promote the ethos of equal opportunities for all staff and students
