Building on the solid foundations already in place you will play a vital role as you bring your experience, vision and ambition that will secure rapid and sustainable improvement in: the oracy and literacy of students, across all curriculum areas; the outcomes in English at KS3 and KS4 and the successful transition, and progress thereafter, of EAL students who enter the academy.

In many ways this is a career enhancing opportunity and we are looking for a colleague, teacher and leader to lead and drive rapid and sustained improvement within a challenging context.

• Maintain a high profile around school

• Lead on delegated areas of responsibility

• Uphold and embed a culture that enables students and staff to excel

• Help to improve the outcomes and progress of all students, including those who are disadvantaged

We actively welcome interest from successful Curriculum Team Leaders as well as those already having impact at Assistant Head level. Resilience and energy to challenge historical weaknesses will be in your enthusiastic nature as you work with us to change our community for the better.

Ofsted report

“The leadership and development of teaching and learning is emerging as a key strength. Leaders’ evaluations of teaching are accurate and relate closely to the need for teachers to demonstrate that all students make good progress. Leaders and staff have worked successfully to improve their skills and are committed to further improvement for the benefit of all students and the school’s community. Behaviour and safety are good. Students feel safe in school and their behaviour and attitudes to learning have improved since the last inspection. Staff know their students well and relationships are positive. Good levels of care and support are provided for those students whose circumstances may make them vulnerable.”
