The Role

We are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Headteacher from September 2022. The post holder will be responsible for the Curriculum across the school. 


As a member of SLT, the Assistant Headteacher will play an important role in the overall leadership and management of the school. In particular, you will work closely alongside the Headteacher to lead and develop an outstanding, inclusive, comprehensive curriculum that serves the students.

The successful candidate will hold whole school responsibility for


● Leadership Development of Curriculum Leaders

● Responsibility for coordinating and chairing Middle Leader Meetings 

● Curriculum Development: supporting the Deputy Headteacher, including transition mapping across key stages and ensuring the curriculum is fit for purpose for all students

● Curriculum taster days 

● Strategic planning of the timetable that takes into account the wider factors of the school. 

● Coordinate options process between key stage transitions with appropriate pathways for all students. 

● Raising attainment for students, monitoring the progress and attainment of pupils. 

● Catch-up and interventions coordinator: responsibility for the catch and intervention timetable. 

● Exams: responsibility for all internal and external examinations across all key stages. 

● Teaching and Learning Coaching: support the development of Teaching and Learning throughout the school.

● Policies related to role and responsibility.
