The Role:

We are pleased to be able to offer a suitably qualified colleague the opportunity to join the senior team as Assistant Headteacher. As well as being fully involved in the day to day leadership and management of the school this role will focus on aspects of Assessment Strategy, embedding data systems and the timely communication of data ‘stories’ that facilitate a crystal clear understanding of student progress as well as structural curriculum design and timetabling. Along with our Data Manager the successful colleague will also oversee our MIS.

Our successful colleague will have an unstinting belief that every young person, whatever their starting point or circumstances, can make and sustain exceptional progress and that our purpose is to change lives. They will understand why the above foci are so important for us to serve our students well and be excited at the prospect of being part of our rapid improvement journey.

The length of your previous experience as a leader is less important to us than your clear vision on what can be achieved for our students, your understanding of high standards and your ability to motivate and inspire.

As well as having a passion for young people and their futures our colleague will:

  • be a dynamic professional with a desire for rapidly improving standards
  • be an outstanding classroom practitioner
  • have experience in timetabling and curriculum design
  • understand how to design an effective data system that influences excellent teaching and improves progress
  • be a self starter, able to think and plan ahead
  • be an excellent and timely communicator
  • have a track record of delivering clear impact on standards, attainment and progress
  • bring an unwavering commitment to doing whatever it takes
  • have excellent emotional intelligence and the ability to engage, inspire and build excellent relationships with both students and staff
  • know how to balance holding colleagues to account with supporting them and helping them to be brilliant teachers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly ambitious team of staff and make a real impact on our students’ lives.
