Job overview

The Interim Academy Management Committee of Dean Trust Rose Bridge
 is seeking to appoint:

Assistant Headteacher
Director of Pupil and Parent Engagement

An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding leader, holding Qualified Teacher Status, to join the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Dean Trust Rose Bridge.  You will play a key role in driving the school forward as we continue to rapidly accelerate progress in all key areas of the school through our high standards and expectations.  As a Senior Leader at the school you will be part of a team with very high aspirations.  We are unwavering in our ambition for this school community.

The school was oversubscribed in Year 7 for September 2018.

Rose Bridge Academy was placed in Special Measures in January 2018.  There have been 2 HMI Monitoring Visits since.  The most recent report reflects the current, positive position of the school and progress made since January 2018.  Effective from 1st February 2019, Rose Bridge Academy becomes part of The Dean Trust (Dean Trust Rose Bridge), which has a number of very high performing schools and a proven track record of sustained improvement.  The Dean Trust’s core values include traditional academic education, excellent discipline and respect, resulting in improved attainment and progress. “Believe, Achieve, Succeed” has been embraced by all of the schools in The Dean Trust.  We have proved the power of these words with praise in Ofsted inspections.

You will teach pupils across the ability range at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

We can offer you the opportunity to:

  • Join a cohesive and highly ambitious team of staff:
“A sense of pride in the school has developed among teachers and pupils”.(OFSTED November 2018)
  • Join the highly successful Dean Trust:
“The school receives significant support for leadership and teaching from the Dean Trust… This support is highly effective.”  (OFSTED November 2018)
  • Join a school with strong reputation:
“Over four fifths of parents would recommend the school to others” (OFSTED November 2018)
  • Join a school which sets high standards for both staff and pupils:
“Staff and pupils express confidence in senior leaders and recognise that many aspects of school life have already changed for the better” (OFSTED November 2018)

The key aim of the post is to ensure that all pupils are able to become independent, self-motivated learners and to ensure that all parents are actively engaged in their child’s education and career prospects.

We are highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils and we expect all our staff to share this commitment. Enhanced DBS vetting procedures are required for all posts.  Application forms and further information are available from Miss A Ward (PA to the Headteacher) on 01942 510712 (Ext 235) or email award@thedeantrust.co.uk

Closing date for applications: Thursday 7th February 2019
Proposed interview dates:  Thursday 14th and Friday 15th February 2019
