AN OUTSTANDING ASSISTANT HEAD TEACHER
Salary scale: Leadership Scale Pay Range: L11 – L15
We are looking for an inspirational, talented and enthusiastic leader to join us in raising standards for our learners and help develop and deliver the school vision
You will already be;
• An outstanding classroom practitioner with primary or secondary mainstream or special school teaching experience
• A leader with experience of whole school management
• Able to manage all aspects of Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 operations
• Able to think and act strategically
• Proactive, resourceful and energetic
You will have;
• A commitment to improving the outcomes and life chances of young people with complex special educational needs
• The skills to continuously improve the learning experience for our children
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
The post will involve supporting the Deputy Head in the leadership and management of areas within Key Stages 2 and 3 and the development of the curriculum. The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring consistency and smooth transition between Key Stages 2 and 3. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing systems to support emotional regulation for learners.
Brent Knoll is an all age special school for children and young people with social and communication difficulties including autism. Many of our learners also have significant learning difficulties. The school is currently reviewing its curriculum model and this will be a key appointment in leading curriculum innovation. In January 2015 the school moved to a brand new purpose built building which has provided new and exciting opportunities for enriching the curriculum and learning. The school is keen to develop its strategy for the use of technology and is seeking innovative solutions to support the development of Teaching and Learning in this area.
