Job overview

This is a genuinely exciting time to join Duncombe Primary School as we continue on our developmental journey of Good to Outstanding. We are looking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Headteacher/Head of Inclusion to join the school in January 2020. The successful applicant will have responsibility for the strategic direction and management of all inclusion and pastoral structures and systems across the school as well as leading on whole school standards in all areas.

As an inspirational leader and teacher, your key responsibility will be to provide strategic leadership, direction and will contribute significantly to driving school improvement by implementing and leading on high quality provision that leads to positive outcomes. This role will allow you to develop your own career in an innovative, challenging yet supportive school, where pupils are at the heart of all we do.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • QTS and a minimum of 5 years teaching
  • Experience as member of a Middle or Senior Leadership Team
  • A proven track record in dealing with complex SEN and child protection issues
  • Confident with using a range of IT systems
  • The ability to manage, develop and maintain a high-quality SEN provision.
  • Responsible for the strategic direction and development of the inclusion faculty, working closely with the Child and Family Support Worker, BAME Community Development Workers, partners, the advisory board and governing body.
  • Can lead, motivate, support, challenge and develop staff to secure improvement.
  • Can efficiently and effectively meet specific objectives in line with the school’s strategic plan and financial context.
  • Has proven experience of working creatively, with partner agencies.
  • Can lead a culture of critical reflection engaging with others to identify, share and promote effective practice.
  • Works effectively with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Embraces change and innovation positively.
  • Has a good sense of humour
