Job overview

We are a portfolio Pupil Referral Unit situated in the County Borough of Wrexham, providing education for secondary aged young people who are unable to attend mainstream school. From September, we will be operating from three sites, namely Stiwdio Pen-y-Cae, Stiwdio Hafod and Haulfan, which specialise in supporting pupil needs relating to behaviour and mental health.

We are passionate about providing children and young people a fantastic opportunity to re-build self-confidence and esteem, in order for children to successfully re-engage with learning. We have high aspirations for all our children and young people, whatever challenging circumstances they face.

We are embarking on our most exciting phase of development. We have recently refreshed our service vision to meet the needs of our key stakeholders and local communities. Our new name, Gorwelion Newydd (New Horizons), logo and vision provides a robust platform for us to achieve our goals and ambitions. We are proud to part of the Wrexham community.

Our staff team is vibrant, innovative and solution focused. We are looking to recruit two Assistant Headteachers who have a passion for teaching children who experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We are looking for leaders who have ‘drive’ and ambition to succeed.

An Enhanced DBS & EWC registration is required for this position.
