Full Time, Fixed Term Contract - Covering for secondment, from Easter 2018 until January 2019

The Headteacher and Governors are excited to invite current or inspiring leaders to apply for a 2 term secondment opportunity. The successful candidate will lead Teaching and Learning by undertaking the already established quality assurance cycle, they will also undertake the SENCO role in school, managing and supporting the transition of pupils in and out of the school.

We are a school for children aged 4-16 with a wide variety of needs, including ASD and complex and challenging behaviour. Our pupils range in ability from P3-NCL6.

The schools ethos, is embedded through our curriculum approach of preparing students for the next stage in their education/employment, through functional life skills across the curriculum (underpinned with functional literacy and numeracy). It is also reflected in our pastoral Attachment Aware approach, which supports the social emotional, wellbeing needs of all of our learners.

Brackenfield School is part of the Derbyshire Federation of Special Schools and the East Midlands SCITT programme, the successful applicant may have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues in other schools to improve practice and also work with new entrants to the profession.
