About us.

Kingsway Community Trust

Kingsway Community Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust, which provides excellent partnership opportunities for the pupils, parents and staff of each school. This has been developed from of a Hard Federation of 2 Manchester Primary schools, Ladybarn Primary School and Green End Primary School who have worked together since 2007 and both became Convertor Academies in 2013.  The Trust is led and managed by one Executive Headteacher and one Governing Body. In each school there is a full time Head of School who lead and manage alongside the Executive Headteacher. Our Governing Body are an experienced and highly skilled group, led by the Chair of Governors who is a National Leader of Governance.

Kingsway Community Trust is passionate about creating an enthusiasm for learning that will shape children's lives and future chances.

Our Trust Schools

• Will be a nurturing and safe environment where excellence and diversity are valued and celebrated;
• Will be where children learn to build friendships and relationships through respect, teamwork and valuing their community;
• Will harness all the children's potential so that there are no limits to what they can achieve;
• Will never forget that we are at the heart of our community.

Our union allows us to be innovative, be creative and provide pupil and parent support which would be more difficult for one school alone.

The Journey to Free School for the Trust

The motivation for opening Cringle Brook Primary started in May 2012, when we became very aware of the shortage of school places for Manchester Reception children in our community.  Both schools had already increased their places from 1.5 to 2 FTE in 2009.

Despite the increase in places at both our 2 schools and other neighbouring ones, the primary place issue still remained.  The Governors in the Trust were clear about their moral purpose and community to responsibility to all children and so the work began in developing the concept of applying to open a Free School which would be part of our family of schools.

Message from the Executive Headteacher – Lisa Vyas

Cringle Brook is a brand new 1 form entry school, which will open in September 2014 for 30 Reception aged children. It will be run by Kingsway Community Trust (KWCT) and will join our current family of schools; Ladybarn and Green End Primaries.

I am Lisa Vyas, Executive Headteacher, working across the Kingsway Trust of currently two, soon to be three schools and I have been a National Leader of Education since 2006. I have worked in Manchester schools for the whole of my teaching career and have been headteacher at Ladybarn since 1998 and Green End since 2007. Both our existing schools are high achieving and have very strong reputations for success both locally and nationally; Cringle Brook will benefit from strong links with these two schools.

I am passionate about enabling all children in our local communities to have the very best possible educational opportunities. I have extremely high expectations of all the children, both in terms of their academic achievement and their emotional and social development.

The curriculum we will provide at CBCP will be tailor made to give all children a thirst for learning, a motivated engagement in school and the best chance to attain high academic success. There will be a strong emphasis on developing confidence and skills to be excellent communicators in all situations. The school will have a very strong sense of community, with nurture and strong relationships at its core.

If you would like to find out a little more about what will be on offer at Cringle Brook CPS, please do not hesitate to arrange a visit to either of our existing schools.

Our Ethos

Kingsway Community Trust is committed to ensuring that every child succeeds highly during their time at Cringle Brook Primary and this commitment will be at the heart of everything we do. Through excellent leadership and strong governance, we will develop high academic achievement, strong social skills and a sense of place in the world for every child.

Our team of highly skilled teachers will deliver motivating lessons which will challenge all children to achieve the best possible outcomes. Everything the children will experience at Cringle Brook will be developed with them in mind.

We expect high standards from our staff and, in turn expect these from all children, with high attendance and excellent punctuality. All parents will expected to be fully involved in their child’s education and there will be plenty of opportunities for them to get involved in school life.
