Job overview

Worth School is an independent Catholic Benedictine Boarding and Day School for pupils aged 11 – 18, set in a rural location near Turners Hill.

Assistant Head Pastoral

Worth School is looking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher with excellent communication and interpersonal skills as its new Assistant Head Pastoral from January 2022.

You will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping to guide the continued development of the School’s pastoral provision. Teaching in your subject specialism will be part of the role, with a suitably reduced timetable.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pastoral life of the School, as well as for the day-to-day operations in our nurturing, aspirational environment.  This includes the development and delivery of the pastoral development plan as well as supporting our team of House staff in the day-to-day operations, ensuring high pastoral standards of care and support to all our pupils.

You will also undertake the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and lead on pupil behaviour management, ensuring that excellent safeguarding practices and high standards of pupil conduct are always at the heart of the School.

A passion for improving services and standards is essential, and you will have contributed positively to the success of an organisation in the past. You will also need to have knowledge and experience of safeguarding.

This is an exciting time to join the School, with a new Sixth Form Centre opening in the Autumn. This new role comes with a salary of £65,000 per annum. Employees also have access to our facilities and benefit from free parking, meals, social events, and discounted school fees.

The successful applicants must have their own transport as there is no public transport to the site.
