This is an exciting time to join the Olive Academies Multi-Academy Trust and this role will offer the successful candidate the chance to help shape our provision at our academy in Thurrock. 

The role of Assistant Headteacher will give an inspirational school leader a unique opportunity to be part of our journey to outstanding from the start.

Olive AP Academy - Thurrock

Just 40 minutes from central London by train, Olive AP Academy - Thurrock is based in Tilbury. Our brand new building opened to staff and students in summer 2017. The academy was graded as 'Good' in all areas at its last Ofsted inspection in December 2018.

We work with pupils who have been permanently excluded from school and those who have medical needs.  Our alternative provision academy has up to 96 students aged between 11 and 16 on roll at any one time. 

Olive AP Academy – Thurrock is part of the Olive Academies Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), approved by the Department for Education. Established in 2013, it is one of the first academy sponsors specialising in alternative provision in England. 

Our aim is to transform the lives of children and young people for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked. We help our pupils develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives.
