Assistant Headteacher

We are a school for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (with an ASC base) and wish to appoint a school leader with evidence of:

• successfully leading staff
• successful experience of meeting the needs of pupils with SEN who are learning at a level below Year 5 expectations
• successful experience of supporting teenagers in their learning and development

Our professional philosophy is highly “solution orientated”- seeing challenges as opportunities to improve. Applicants seeking to join our team would need to share this approach.

We are looking for:

• high expectations for pupils with SEN with an understanding of the need for high levels of support to achieve these high expectations
• understanding of moderate learning difficulties and relevant strategies
• a positive solution-orientated approach to meeting the needs of the minority of our pupils who also experience social, emotional and/or mental health needs
• high quality classroom skills and a reflective practitioner
• the ability to lead a team in a positive, determined, manner in the interests of pupils
