Job overview

“Stronger in Knowledge, Partnership & Leadership”

Parkwood E-ACT Academy, awarded a ‘good’ from Ofsted in 2014, is a nationally respected, high-attaining and supportive academy based in the north of Sheffield, easily accessible from the M1/ A1 motorway network. We moved into our state of the art new building in April 2012 and have since been privileged enough to work in an Academy which offers both a modern and practical learning environment, along with locally unrivalled, inspiring surroundings for both staff and students alike. As an established Academy which began its exciting journey in 2009, we are fortunate enough to be sponsored by EACT: an organisation fully committed to partnering us and all our stakeholders and communities, on our journey to becoming world class.

We now wish to appoint an outstanding Assistant Headteacher, specialising in preferably Humanities or Science, although other subject areas will be considered, to assist the Headteacher in driving forward outcomes within the Academy. We seek a professional who is committed to academic excellence and helping every child succeed, who will be responsible for driving the teaching and learning agenda across two Key Stages.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be a competent, inspirational and energetic leader and manager of a range of others
  • demonstrate the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of our students
  • be a dynamic leader with a history of success
  • have transformed learning and teaching in your area of responsibility

The Academy is a “high energy” and rewarding place to work and our staff make daily positive impact upon our learners. We have a strong belief that if students enjoy learning and are equipped with the tools to succeed, then they will achieve at the highest level.

Parkwood E-ACT Academy recognises and values continued professional development and as such training opportunities will be made available throughout your career with us.

Further information can be found on www.parkwoodacademy.org.uk. To request an application form, or a visit to the Academy, please contact Wendy Jackson on 01142 210221, or email wendy.jackson@e-act.org.uk

The closing date for this post is 4pm Wednesday 24th May 2017
Interviews are planned for Friday 26thth May 2017

E-ACT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students and thus expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service application in line with Section 115 of the Police Act 1997. E-ACT is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and diversity.
