Job overview

The Quality First Education Trust is a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) that will be established by Belleville Primary School in June 2017. Belleville is an outstanding four form entry school, with over 900 children over two sites and a successful track record of working with and supporting other schools to improve. The MAT will sponsor Wix Primary School, which will shortly become an academy, and is likely to incorporate other schools in due course.

Wix is a diverse school with a rich mixture of cultures, a global outlook and strong international links located between the open space of Clapham Common and the vibrant centre of Battersea. In 2017-18 the school’s capacity is 360 children, including nursery provision. Wix has two forms of entry – the ‘classic’ form, which follows the English curriculum and the bilingual class who follow the French curriculum for half the week and study the English curriculum for the other half of the week. The school also houses a private Lycée, which provides the French provision for the bilingual class.

Belleville is a designated National Teaching School which works with a number of other primary schools (mostly in south London) to deliver high quality training and development for teachers, leaders and other school staff. We are currently looking for an Assistant Headteacher (Teaching School) to develop, oversee and lead the day-to-day running of Belleville’s Teaching School programmes and projects. The role is an exciting opportunity to develop and support a wide range of schools and play a significant role in influencing outcomes for hundreds of children.

You must be an outstanding teacher, able to teach and lead at Belleville and within the Quality First Education Trust as required. Our teaching school provision is subject to change and revision and the Teaching School role may not continue indefinitely. Therefore, the post-holder will be employed first and foremost as a senior leader for the Trust.

If you are an excellent, ambitious practitioner looking for a new and exciting challenge and wish to arrange a visit or discuss the post, please contact John Grove, Executive Headteacher of Belleville and Wix Primary Schools by email to: enquiries@bellevilleschool.org or by phone: 020 7228 6727.

An information pack, including a Job Description and Person Specification can be downloaded below. Alternatively an application pack can be found on the Wandsworth Council website https://jobs.richmondandwandsworth.gov.uk/.

For any further details please contact the school on the telephone number below.

Completed Quality First Education Trust application forms should be posted to the school address below and marked for the attention of Halima Kalim or emailed to: recruitment@bellevilleschool.org

Closing Date: Friday 21 April 2017 (at noon)

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
