Croyland Nursery School and Day Nursery provides education and care for children from 6 months to 5 years. The Nursery School currently provides 88 free entitlement places for children aged 3 years, 36 free entitlement places for children aged 2 years and 48 extended provision places for children from 6 months to 5 years. We are a registered School and inspected under the School inspection framework and the Early Years inspection.

The Nursery School provides outstanding education and care for children. In Jan 2012 the school was graded ‘outstanding’ under the School Ofsted Framework and we have maintained this judgement for over ten years. The School is part of Wellingborough Nursery Schools Federation with Highfield Nursery School.

We have an exciting job opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher to lead the nursery team. The Assistant Head will be part of a very strong and committed senior leadership team for the two Nursery Schools in Wellingborough. We are seeking a visionary leader who believes that every child has the right to high quality education. You will assist the Headteacher and senior team with the strategic development and growth of the Nursery Schools.

You will be:-

  • A leader with a proven track record of outstanding teaching practice and the ability to improve the quality of teaching and learning of others across the school.

  • A creative, driven and passionate team player who enjoys a sense of achievement and can rise to the challenges of the constantly changing landscape of education

  • A true professional, dedicated to children coming first, committed to supporting continuous school improvement.

  • A highly organised, efficient and creative individual committed to the principles of inclusion and to fostering excellent relationships between governors, parents, carers and the wider community.

  • An Assistant Headteacher who believes in the principles of teaching schools and will support the Headteacher in working with other schools to provide high-quality training and support for school improvement in our own school, and across Wellingborough. The School is open all year round from 8-6pm and the successful candidate will be expected to work on a shift system.   • The position is fixed term up until the end of October 2019 and we would consider the option of a secondment.

Requirements:

  • An outstanding UK Qualified teacher with QTS who is able to inspire children and staff members

  • Honours degree or equivalent

  • A team player who is able to work collaboratively with others

  • Committed to outstanding standards in all areas and willing to lead by example

  • Passionate about their specialism and willing to share skills and expertise

  • Experience of leadership in education

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the early years curriculum
