Owing to the continued success and subsequent growth of boarding at Myddelton College, we are seeking an Assistant (residential) Housemaster/Housemistress, who has the ambition and vision aligned with that of our existing leadership and boarding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to join the boarding team of a new and growing independent school in North Wales. The successful applicant will have the vital responsibility of working with the Housemaster/Housemistress in shaping their own boarding house, in conjunction with the wider boarding provision and ethos of the College.

This is a unique opportunity to join the ambitious and growing boarding team of a college in its infancy and to help shape its ethos, ambitions and values. The successful candidate will fulfil a key role and will work closely with the Housemaster/Housemistress and Head of Boarding in building the strategic vision of boarding as we look to expand our boarding numbers year on year within a truly outstanding environment.

Myddelton College is an independent school for 9-18 year olds, located on an impressive 37 acre campus in Denbigh, North Wales. We are easily accessible to North & Mid Wales, Chester and the North West of England and draw our students from all over the world. 

We opened our doors to 85 students in September 2016 and almost doubled in size in September 2017, with further plans to expand rapidly over the next 3 years. We currently have 65 boarding students and have over 14 nationalities represented in our community this number is expected to increase to between 80 and 100 boarders by September 2018. We have an existing team of committed residential staff who care passionately about the children in their care.

We are a forward thinking and highly ambitious school looking to revolutionise the current system of education. We are an accredited Microsoft Associate Showcase School and we deliver all of our lessons using the Office 365. Having designed a truly 21st Century curriculum, we are looking for an outstanding practitioner to join our team of highly committed teachers and boarding staff and to participate in developing our pedagogy and curriculum.

The post is suitable for an experienced residential tutor looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will have a reduced teaching timetable and we welcome applications from any subject background. We will work with the successful candidate to ensure that they have the right balance of teaching and boarding commitments and of course free time away from duties.
