Job overview

Term time

You already have experience of working with young people – and you have a natural empathy with teenagers. You enjoy their company and can quickly become a trusted mentor, someone who can build a strong, happy and supportive community. Then this challenging and rewarding role could be right for you.

It is your opportunity to join the friendly and welcoming team here at Woldingham School. Close to London yet in an outstandingly beautiful rural setting, Woldingham is a happy and successful Catholic boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18.

Woldingham is a truly unique school with an equally unique culture and philosophy. Building on a proud heritage that stretches back 175 years, we are now driving an exciting future that is underpinned by forward thinking, an innovative spirit and state-of-the-art facilities – all alive with the creative energy of over 500 young minds. Our goal is to develop confident and compassionate young women who are curious, ambitious and ready to take on the challenges of today’s world.

Taking responsibility for the wellbeing of girls and discipline within the House, you will foster a safe and caring environment within which every student can flourish and grow, both personally and academically. You will also provide key support to the Housemistress in the smooth day-to-day running of the House as you help to oversee the pastoral care and academic progress of day girls and boarders, supervise students and keep records up-to-date.

First-rate communication and administrative skills are important, not to mention an understanding and sympathetic attitude – though you must also have the ability to uphold the highest standards of discipline and self-control. This is a demanding residential post that involves working long hours, so high levels of energy and stamina are essential too.

Salary: Woldingham Pay Scale. This is a residential post and accommodation is provided.
