We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant ICT Manager to join our ICT Team. The position is suited to someone who has an excellent track record and significant experience in providing ICT technical support in ICT, preferably within a school environment. This position combines network oversight and management of back-end systems with day-to-day support of students and staff. We are seeking someone with a passion and enthusiasm for innovative ICT developments in order to meet the challenge of continuous improvement across the College. This is a new position within the ICT Team and is considered pivotal in reaching the College’s strategic goals.


About the Role

• Assist in co-ordinating ICT infrastructure projects to ensure that the College is at the forefront of technological developments.

• Assist the ICT Manager in the leadership of ICT within the College.

• Supervise the ICT Services team to ensure efficiency in technology support.

• Recommend changes in the College’s ICT hardware, software and/or systems.

• Collaborate with ICT Manager and key vendor(s) to ensure smooth operation of all College ICT Systems.

• Manage the initiation, design and implementation of system changes.

• Assist in the provision of objective and accurate feedback and reports as required.

• Support and develop the IT skills for all staff including the provision of informal training.


Essential Qualifications

• Current MCSE, MCTS or MCITP or equivalent demonstrated experience.

• 3-5 years’ experience in IT Technical Management.


Knowledge & Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of server and client hardware and software, including Windows server, PC & MacOS X operating systems.

• Excellent fault diagnosis skills.

• Microsoft Level 3 (SCCM, Exchange, Office365).

• Infrastructure backup and disaster recovery.

• Firewalls.

• Security (Active Directory, group policy management).

• Linux and OSX and iOS.

• Virtualisation technologies.

• VOIP deployment and management.

• Implementation of cloud hosting services (Azure or AWS).
