Including working 2 out of 5 INSET days each academic year as directed by the school, with availability to work any or all of the remaining 3 INSET days at short notice should the need arise, and for which additional payment will be made

£21,589 – £23,836 (Pro-rata salary £19,513 - £21,544)

Appointment - Permanent

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Inclusion Manager to support the learning and teaching of all pupils at KS3 KS4 and KS5, with a particular focus on English and Mathematics. The post-holder will work to support raising the standards of literacy and numeracy across the academy, and will work to support raising the attainment of our most vulnerable learners. This is an exciting role and is seen as a key appointment in developing the progress of students within the academy. 

Under the direction and guidance of the Inclusion Manger, you will be: 

  • able to work alongside the Vice Principal (Inclusion), SENDCo, Inclusion Manager and other colleagues to plan and deliver innovative and appropriate learning activities, particularly in English, Mathematics, Literacy and Numeracy
  • able to effectively and efficiently manage and deploy resources  
  • able to contribute to CPD of colleagues 
  • committed to promoting positive values, attitudes and behaviour 
  • able to interest, engage and motivate students to work hard 
  • able to advance students’ learning in a range of classroom settings 
  • able to communicate effectively with stakeholders through leading regular review meetings, correspondence and written reports

Aston Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Swallownest, Sheffield. It is supported by the multi-academy Aston Community Education Trust, which provides specialist staff and expertise for three secondary schools and nine Junior. Aston is a larger than the average-sized secondary, Aston Academy provides 1,800 places for students aged 11-18, when fully subscribed.
