A rare and remarkable opportunity that will change your career.

Working as part of The GORSE Academies Trust, The Ruth Gorse Academy will ensure that students receive an outstanding education that focuses on aspiration, high expectations and personalisation. Together these non-negotiable values will instil in young people a self-belief that enables students to access the highest standard of higher educational provision and employment. We believe that poverty and deprivation should in no way limit either the quality of a young person’s educational experience or the levels of achievement to which those students are able to rise.

Due to our expansion of cohort size, we are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational Assistant Leader of IT, Business Studies and Computer Science to join The Ruth Gorse Academy from January 2019, ensuring that it remains a truly outstanding establishment. The successful candidate will be an inspirational teacher and leader who can demonstrate passion and integrity and a strong record of effective practice. This is an important role in the academy’s development and the successful candidate, with support from the leadership team and the Curriculum Leader of these subjects, will play a vital role in the creation and delivery of an exciting curriculum as well as undertaking additional Trust wide responsibilities including influencing others and leading professional development opportunities.

September 2018 has seen the first cohort of Year 11 students at The Ruth Gorse Academy. We have no doubt that our students will reap the benefits of immersion within our outstanding culture in their examination results. We are passionate about ensuring our students have the opportunity to actively choose their next steps as opposed to having avenues closed off to them due to poor results or qualifications. Our students receive outstanding pastoral care, support and guidance and we would expect any successful candidate to be of a mind-set where they believe anything is possible. Likewise, our professional body also benefits from outstanding CPD and support which is personalised to your particular needs and experience.

If you are excited about the prospect of this opportunity, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We aim to provide the highest quality of pastoral care and academic standards, helping to develop in our students a keen sense of pride in themselves, their academy and the wider community. We recognise the crucial role that parents/carers have in this respect and so strive to work in strong partnership with them throughout their children’s time with us. Our supportive approach enables everyone to develop the skills and knowledge required to be responsible and considerate individuals suited to the demands of our ever-changing multicultural society. There is extensive monitoring of students’ progress and regular contact with parents.
