Assistant Librarian

ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN (22 hours per week Monday-Wednesday)

This post is permanent, term time only and part time. It is essential for the post holder to have experience of working in a library, and desirable to have some experience of working within a school or college. Good record keeping and communication skills are also essential.

The weekly working hours are 22 on a following shift pattern: Monday 7.45am-3.35pm, Tuesday 10.10am-6.00pm, Wednesday 7.45am-3.35pm. There is a 30 mins lunch break each day which is unpaid. 2. Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale, grade 22 – 26 (currently £9,208.12- £10,522.07 per annum for TTO based on 22 hrs per week).  Holiday pay is included in the salary calculation. Qualifying service greater than 5 years will enhance the holiday pay element in the salary.

All support staff are automatically enrolled with the Local Government Pension Scheme.  There is an employee benefit scheme in operation at the college.  

It is compulsory for all members of staff to attend the annual open events in mid-October (which will be an evening and Saturday), for which there is a compensating college closure day/TOIL given.
