The Academy
Nunthorpe Academy is a very popular co-educational 11-19 comprehensive converter Academy with approximately 1550 students on roll - judged to be GOOD – by OFSTED
The Role
We are seeking support to work across Year 7-11 year groups to allow other pastoral staff to undertake mentoring sessions with key students.
Core purpose:
The core purposes of the Assistant Pastoral Manager are to monitor and report attendance and to support the Senior Pastoral Manager. Through effective data analysis and strong relations maximise students’ attendance/punctuality, raise their aspirations and achievements as well as to promote high expectations of behaviour of all students in the Year Group. Reinforcing and building upon our ethos (Ready, Respectful, Safe).
Duties will include:
- To monitor and report attendance and punctuality for all students in their case
- To support student engagement
- To undertake first-aid responsibilities as per rota directs
- Safeguarding responsibilities in line with role
- To undertake pastoral quality assurance every term
- To supervise isolated learning and BFL
- Flexibility: on occasion, other duties to meet the needs and demands of the Academy
This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and some additional aspects associated with a pastoral role may be undertake based on the skill set of the successful applicant.

The Candidate
We require an energetic, inspirational and talented person with a passion for the education of students across the whole 11 – 19 age and ability range. GCSE (or equivalent) grade B in Mathematics and English, are a minimum qualification requirement for this post.
To be calm, efficient, and highly organised, with the flexibility to work with other faculties on occasion across our Academy is essential. Ability to work under pressure and willingness to adapt to the needs of the Academy is a must.
The successful candidate must undertake an enhanced DBS check.
