Assistant Principal/Academy SENDCO

At Aylesbury Vale Academy, all students are held in equal and positive regard. We endeavour to facilitate high levels of achievement for all students, enabling them to be prepared for the opportunities, responsibilities and experience of adult life.

This is a cross phase opportunity to lead and develop provision for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities alongside our phase specific Assistant SENDCos, expert Learning Support Assistants and administrative support. They will be responsible for the management of a large team of Support Staff across all phases of the Academy. Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Post-16. The post holder will have a significant responsibility for evaluating the Academy's inclusive performance and identifying the priorities for continuous development and reach our aspirational goals; ensuring quality of opportunity for all; developing policies and practices and ensuring that resources are efficiently and effectively deployed to achieve the Academy's values, aims and objectives. Due to the size of the school, this role would suit existing SENDCos or those with a range of SEND experience.

This post has arisen due to the internal promotion of the existing SENDCo to Vice Principal.
