As part of the exciting growth plans for the School, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements. We are looking for an experienced and influential Individual to join our team as an Assistant Principal. You will work in collaboration and support of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure outstanding leadership and management within the school.  

Lead by example, demonstrating a strong commitment to achieving the highest standards in every aspect of work. Assist in the day to day running of the school, maintaining a high profile and presence around the school, including additional duties

To help to create a climate in which teachers are motivated and are encouraged to develop their practice

The ideal candidate will need to have a proven track record in effective leadership and management within a primary or secondary setting and be able to lead the school on to even greater success. Candidates must have an abundance of energy, flair, vision and enthusiasm. They will need to be hard working, high achieving and self-motivating and capable of playing a major role in further developing teaching and learning within the school. The Assistant Principal role is a very diverse role and applicants must have excellent inter-personal, communication and literacy skills and be tactful/diplomatic or prepared to challenge as required. Other essential skills include excellent time management and organisation skills. In teaching and learning, the ideal candidate will have an excellent track record of teaching and student progress within a successful primary/secondary school who should have a true commitment to raising standards. We would welcome candidates from Primary & Secondary Schools.

The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Waverley School is a co-educational, all-through school located in Birmingham, West Midlands. It has around 1800 pupils across its primary, secondary and sixth-form departments. The school is part of the Waverley Education Foundation, a multi-academy trust that also operates the local Waverley Studio College.

Waverley School became an all-through school in 2012 and moved to a new site in 2013. It is proud of its diverse student intake.
