Job overview

Bradford Forster Academy is an 11-16 Church of England secondary Academy and part of the Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust (BDAT), a growing Christian Multi-Academy Trust based in Bradford. The Academy opened on 1st September 2015 and now has over 1000 students on roll across five year groups. Within BDAT there is an exciting opportunity to work across a variety of growing diverse schools who are passionate about making a difference to young people’s lives and prospects.

We are looking to appoint two dynamic, ambitious and effective individuals to join us at our vibrant academy in the role of Assistant Principal. These roles will be instrumental in supporting the academy in the next stage of development and in our aspiration to be outstanding in all areas. The specific areas of responsibility will initially be focused on

- Personal Development and Christian Ethos

- Progression and Open Bucket achievement

SLT roles are reviewed annually to facilitate professional development and so there is scope for further experience across a different remit in the future. Our SLT works closely and effectively together to drive the academy forward and so it is essential that we appoint the right person for our team. The remit will provide a great platform for someone stepping up from middle to senior leadership to gain experience in a forward-thinking senior team, or for an existing Assistant Principal to widen their experience and have an impact which could support progression towards future promotion.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an experienced middle or senior leader with a passion for making a difference in an area of disadvantage

• Work alongside the Principal and other Senior leaders to drive progress and attainment and create a culture of success and aspiration

• Have excellent leadership, communication and inter-personal skills

• Be a passionate and skilful teacher and leader who has the drive, enthusiasm and energy to foster positive relationships with staff, students, parents and our community for the benefit of all

We can offer you:

• Tailored CPD with a strong commitment on developing individual career paths

• A stimulating, attractive and welcoming learning environment

• An approach that supports and stimulates professional growth

• A supportive and forward-thinking Leadership Team in an inclusive academy and MAT

• Cross-trust opportunities for collaboration and development

Closing Date for applications is 9.00am, Monday 23rd May 2022.
