The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to join our effective senior leadership team during an exciting phase of Academy expansion.  Reporting to the Vice Principal (Standards), this role will be accountable for ensuring the effective development and scheduling of a broad and balanced curriculum which matches the needs and abilities of students, and for ensuring effective systems are in place for data management, assessment, recording and reporting to support student progress. The successful applicant will be responsible for the Academic overview of a Year group to ensure students achieve excellent behaviour, attendance, progress and achievement, and strategic leadership of a core faculty area, to ensure excellence in teaching and learning, engagement and student outcomes.

We are seeking an outstanding teacher to make a distinctive contribution to the leadership of the Academy, who is aligned with our mission to improve the life chances of our students in the local community to which we serve.  Suitable candidates will be committed, hardworking and caring practitioners with a proven track record in the classroom and within their current middle or senior leadership role. 

The School

Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we are currently expanding further with a £10 million project set to conclude in October 2018. Rated by Ofsted in April 2015 as a good school, with many outstanding features, we are now embarking on the next stage of our journey to outstanding and are looking for exceptional and inspiring individuals to help us achieve this ambition.
