De Warenne Academy serves the communities of Conisbrough and Denaby Main on the Doncaster/Rotherham border. It is a member of the Delta Academy Trust, a network which is a rich source of support in sharing expertise and good practice. The academy has high aspirations for its students and staff and in February 2013 moved into brand new purpose-built state-of-the-art buildings.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and talented Assistant Principal to join our academy for May 2018 – or September 2018, depending on the right candidate. The successful candidate will provide proactive support to the Principal / Vice Principal / EAB members to ensure that the leadership and management of the academy operates at the most effective level possible.
This would be a wonderful opportunity for a head of department or lead teacher who wishes to take their career to the next level, working at an academy that places learning at the heart of everything it does.

Our aim is for all our students to learn in a positive, safe and supportive environment where academic achievement is celebrated and effort and attitude to learning is rewarded. Since our OFSTED inspection in October 2021, which deemed De Warenne a ‘Good’ school in all areas, GCSE results have shown a continuous improvement year on year.
The class of 2023 left our Academy with fantastic results, making the most progress in the history of De Warenne and having made more progress than any other secondary school in Doncaster. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with academic, vocational and technical subjects offered to all our students and we deliver a rich and varied personal development curriculum. We offer a wide range of enrichment activities in order to unearth a variety of strengths and talent, which we strongly encourage students to take part in. We also take learning beyond the classroom with events and educational visits running throughout the year. We serve the villages of Conisbrough and Denaby Main, situated between Doncaster and Rotherham. We are a small but oversubscribed academy, with over 750 students on roll, and we pride ourselves on knowing our students well and doing our best to ensure everyone fulfils their potential.
We benefit from having a recently built academy situated in spacious grounds with excellent facilities including a recently built 3g astroturf pitch.
