Harris Primary Coleraine Park Academy is committed to developing a safe, engaging teaching and learning environment. As we continue to dedicate ourselves to maintaining provisions to see this through, we are looking to appoint an Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning to oversee the teaching and learning provisions of the school. Join an dedicated team of staff all committed to seeing the best opportunitities, quality of education and pastoral care is provided for our little learners. As part of Harris, you will have a wealth of opportunities to develop as a leader with the Harris Federation. We can offer you a range of bespoke courses and qualifications through our Teaching School, including our Aspiring Leaders NPQH for aspiring principals. Succession planning is a key part of our success as a Federation, and we believe that we are at the forefront of developing the next generation of Leaders. We can help prepare you for your next Senior Leadership challenge, investing in your knowledge and expertise through regular support, coaching and a wide range of professional development and training.


About the role 

The post would suit an experienced Teacher or an ambitious senior leader looking either to extend their experience of Headship, or to start their first Principalship. First time Assistant principals benefit from a highly supportive network of experienced Harris principals providing one to one mentoring within an attentive, career enriching environment. For existing Assistant Principals, we offer unrivalled progression opportunities to Executive Principalship, and full support through our National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL) pathway. The course draws on the leadership expertise of Harris executive leaders and Directors as well as other successful MATs from across the country, providing a national standard of excellence in training.

You should be an highly visible and proactive source of inspiration, committed to cultivating the learning environment of your students. You should be a strong communicator with proven strengths in inspiring, engaging and motivating staff at all levels as well as the ability to work proactively with local communities to bring about change. The successful candidate will need a strong track record of school improvement.

Harris Primary Academy Coleraine Park is in the heart of Tottenham, serving a diverse inner city community celebrating a wealth of language and cultures. In 2017/18, we were the highest performing primary academy in the Harris Federation, and in the top 3% in the country for progress. Our Academy opened in September 2012; one of the 48 academies within the Harris Federation. All our staff  aim to give every child an exceptional education providing support, care, enrichment and challenge as they come through our doors. Harris Primary Academy Coleraine Park is in the heart of Tottenham, serving a diverse inner city community celebrating a wealth of language and cultures. Our vision of high expectations, creative learning, and mastery of teaching secured not only an outstanding Ofsted grade in July 2014 but also a recognition of the best pupil progress of all academies in the UK.
