Job overview
A thriving tertiary and general FE college with a growing HE provision, covering a third of the land mass of Wales, we have a student population of 13,000, and circa 800 staff. The curriculum is delivered over 10 campuses throughout Neath Port Talbot and Powys, with the highest concentration of students based in our Neath and Afan colleges.
As Assistant Principal with responsibility for Higher Education you will be responsible for the development, strategic and operational realisation of the NPTC Group of Colleges Higher Education Strategy.
We wish to appoint:
• A Senior Manager to take strategic responsibility for our Higher Education provision;
• A professional with experience of/or qualifications in Management;
• A professional with knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education environment;
• A professional with experience of strategic development and managing change; and
• A professional who can ‘add value’ to a successful college.

Grwp Colegau NPTC Group of Colleges (normally abbreviated to NPTC Group) is a large body of further education colleges located across Neath, Port Talbot and Powys, Wales. The college was first established in 2013, following a merger of two other further education colleges in the local area. As a result, NPTC Group is able to boast of a wide range of modern teaching and recreational facilities. The college takes on learners from an extremely economically diverse area, and as such offers a broad range of full and part-time courses in order to accommodate for a range of people.

Owing to its size, NPTC Group is able to offer a huge range of different courses for a variety of learners. This includes a number of courses aimed at younger school-leavers aged 16-18, who make up a large proportion of the full-time students at the college, but also a series of vocational and professional qualifications, as well as foundation degrees. In addition to this, the college also has on offer a number of higher education BAs and BScs.
