Do you want to be part of a family team who are committed to working together to deliver opportunities for all – and that genuinely cherishes individuality and celebrates creativity – based in a rural setting?
We require, for a September 2021 start, an inspiring and dynamic leader who has the passion and commitment to work as part of a team dedicated to achieving outstanding outcomes for all. This post carries significant responsibility. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership as part of SLT and drive up standards, ensuring good and outstanding provision and outcomes for every student with particular reference to your specialist Faculty.
Depending on your specialism, you will also be accountable for the Science and Technology departments or work within the Humanities team (teaching Geography).
The specific duties of the role are flexible and will be adapted, if needed, to suit the experience of the successful candidate; possible roles include curriculum and timetabling, data and outcomes.
The responsibilities of the Assistant Principal may vary overtime to suit the needs of the school or to allow staff wider experience and professional development.
The successful candidate will have leadership experience and be ready to take the next step into the Senior Leadership team. They will have the expertise and initiative to promote outstanding provision and create an academically rigorous and supportive environment for all students.
Whilst the initial role is in Charles Read Academy in time there is great scope to progress to different schools and roles across the Trust allowing staff opportunities for Post-16 teaching, leadership positions and the chance to take on network-wide responsibilities as appropriate.
Depending on the specialism of the successful candidate, other opportunities will be available ie if we recruit a Humanities specialist, we will be seeking a Head of Department (Science) and science applicants will be asked if they wish to be considered for this alternative role.

About The Trust
Our schools work as a team and achieve great things through these partnerships. Our subject specialists, our trust-wide intranet, a common curriculum and our online learning resources all help us share knowledge and expertise simplifying work processes allowing staff to focus on high quality teaching.
We value our staff highly, and take work/life balance seriously; we realise a happy staff is an effective staff. The leadership of this Academy is determined to create an environment where teachers can carry out their core role of delivering excellent lessons. We have a clear and simple behaviour policy that is easy to administer. If action is needed beyond the basic classroom routines the pastoral and senior teams take the burden away from the teachers, conducting detentions, following up and dealing with parents on your behalf.
In addition to this, teachers are trusted to be professionals and as such we have:
· No unannounced observations
· No lesson grading
· Meeting and INSET day time for joint team planning
