Job overview

Assistant Principal – Inclusion and SEND

KGA L31- 39 (£58,167 to £63,955 plus KGA Bonus Scheme)

Quite possibly the greatest opportunity of your career is awaiting you; the chance to design and shape innovative and creative policy and practice in a brand new all-through academy as a founding senior leader.

King’s Academy Binfield (KAB) is looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative Assistant Principal with an excellent track record to play an intrinsic role in our brand new all-through academy in Bracknell Forest. The school will open in a superb new building in September 2018 with Year 7, and will grow year on year to a roll of over 1800 students, aged 3-18. The primary phase and a specialist resource provision is coming on board from 2019, along with Amen Corner North (ACN), a primary school a mile away.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for all aspects of inclusion across the whole age range in both schools; developing outstanding whole school practice in inclusive education, supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and ensuring outstanding achievement for all students with SEND. They will work with all staff, leading the ‘whatever it takes’ ethos to enable every young person at KAB and ACN to thrive. They will have expertise in the key fields of Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding and will have a proven track record in raising the achievement of all students. As the Designated Safeguarding Officer they will lead the school in developing outstanding practice in all areas of child protection.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to and evidence of success in development of the wider aspects of school life. Applicants should be excellent classroom teachers in their own right; as well as being able to work as part of a team, get stuck in and inspire all staff and students to excel.

As a new and rapidly growing school, this is a rare and exciting opportunity for a skilful leader who can bring creativity, innovation and dynamism. Potential is just as important as experience.

KAB and ACN are part of the King’s Group Academies MAT led by a team of former and current Ofsted ‘outstanding’ head teachers and Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI). Please note link to King’s Group Academies Vision and Mission - https://kingsacademies.uk/about-us/vision-and-mission/

King’s Education separately operates British schools abroad, educating over 4,000 students in countries such as Spain, Latvia and Panama, offering exciting opportunities for genuine international collaboration.

King’s Academy Binfield is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

King's Academy Binfield is a new all-through school within The Kings Group Academies.

Our mission is to provide high quality education within a small community of outstanding schools in the UK that will deliver a transformative learning experience to all our students within the context of a global community of schools.

KGA has at its core the pursuit of the very highest standards both inside the classroom and beyond. We believe all students can exceed their expectations no matter what their prior attainment and experience. In a KGA academy no student will be labelled, we will treat them all as intelligent individuals. Through our ethos, our extended curriculum, our entrepreneurial approach and international dimension, we will ensure students develop into confident, rounded individuals, equipped for life in an ever changing world.

We pride ourselves on listening and responding to the needs of our partner schools and guarantee any school within KGA the opportunity to help shape the future development of our MAT. In a King’s Group Academy, pupils will be able to achieve their personal ambitions and academic goals, with the added advantage and motivation of working alongside peers from other King’s schools around the world.

At KGA our aim is to build clusters of excellence, blending the best of British education with the experience and success gained in our international King’s Group schools. We see staff as our most valuable resource and our innovative approach to CPD enables them to fulfil their career potential, as well as prepare our pupils for a successful future.

King’s Group was founded nearly 50 years ago by Sir Roger Fry and includes nine outstanding schools both abroad and in the UK. With this excellent foundation, King’s Group Academies has been invited by the DfE to develop a MAT and use the expertise of our team to build and provide ongoing support to small networks of outstanding academies.

We share a determination to make a positive difference to the future of our young people, their families and the wider community, as well as to the careers of our staff. This is your invitation to join us.
