Hadlow College, part of North Kent College, is a specialist land based college which offers a huge range of high quality courses to suit the needs of many different students. We have a proud heritage within the rural sector, with our history tracing back over 100 years.

We’ve seen significant growth in student numbers over the last few years, with new programme developments and an increasing commitment to working with local employers making a real contribution to our local communities.

Our aim is to make all our students, the most challenging and rewarding customers, feel welcome and secure within what is a fantastic learning environment as they gain the skills they require for a successful career. As a key member of our senior leadership team, your role as Assistant Principal is vital in making this aim a reality.

Reporting directly to the Vice Principal for Hadlow College, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the delivery of a comprehensive curriculum offer, including Agriculture, Animal Management, Equine, Fisheries and Horticulture to name just a few, as well as taking the lead for the Higher Education provision. You’ll plan and manage the curriculum offer to ensure that all staff, students and the senior leadership team have access to relevant information when needed, so a mind for numbers is a must and you’ll be well versed in taking responsibility for budgets and deadlines.

You’ll be a self-starter and a natural communicator, with the ability to manage a team of professional staff, including Heads of Curriculum, to achieve the College objectives, targets and behaviours, as identified in the strategic plan.

Naturally, you’ll have experience in similar professional roles, bringing your experience and enthusiasm to this key position. You won’t be afraid to challenge people’s ideas when needed, and your own to check the approach is working. Last but not least, you’ll bring enthusiasm to make this key position your own.

In return, we’ll give you 42 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, and you’ll be enrolled onto the Teachers’ Pension Scheme which also includes life assurance. You’ll also benefit from free parking and have access to a range of onsite facilities.

The closing date for applications is 31st August 2022.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students. All appointments are subject to the receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, providing it to the College for review.
