Job overview
Assistant Principal (L12-16)
Are you ready for your next step? Are you an experienced or aspiring senior leader, looking to make a significant contribution to a highly successful inner-city school?
We are looking to appoint a high calibre leader to join our vibrant team at the start of the new academic year. Responsibilities will be varied and dependant on the strengths and experiences of the successful candidate. This may include leading on standards for specific student groups as well as other strategic aspects of the school’s work.
You will have proven experience as a middle or senior leader in successfully leading strategies and staff to support and promote increased levels of achievement for all students. The overriding requirement is for someone who is able lead on and contribute to whole school development, working with and through others to further improve practices and outcomes.
Soar Valley was deemed to be an outstanding school back in 2014, and we judge this to still be the case today. Regular external reviews challenge us to constantly reflect on and amend our practice, and standards remain exceptionally high in all areas of our work. Outcomes are excellent; for example, Progress 8 measures over the last few years put us in the top 10% of schools nationally. The thing we are most proud of however, is our unique and caring ethos, which inspires success for all, making this a great school at which to develop your career. The successful candidate will join a senior leadership team which works extremely effectively and cohesively, and is highly committed to the success of the college. Our staff team is supportive and friendly; our students are a vibrant, culturally mixed, high achieving group; we offer state-of-the-art accommodation and facilities; and this post offers an excellent opportunity for the professional development of the right candidate.
Please see our website for further details. Interested candidates are welcome to visit the school before making an application should they wish. Various dates are available, please see the applicant information and contact Smita Stone, Personnel Manager, sstone@soarvalley.aspirelp.uk
Closing date: 3pm Tuesday 4th March 2025. Interviews are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday 11/12 March 2025.
